I’m working on some maps of the Village/SoHo/etc for my job. This one’s showing the frequency of sidewalk cafes in the area by census block. The crazy one in the southeast corner is Little Italy - given the number of street fairs in that area it seems to make sense that businesses down there would want the right to a sidewalk presence year round, without a need for explicitly participating in an event.

If you’re like me, you tend to peruse Tumblr or Facebook a bit too much when you need to be writing a paper. (Case in point - right now, I should be working on Community Development homework.) This program is badass. It blocks your internets for a specified period of time, just leaving you with yr notes, yr word processing application, and yr brain. Sucks though if you need to google something right quick….
